A brief note on Alexei Navalny's disappearance from prison
Nothing is as it seems with this shady Russian ultranationalist playing the role of Putin's nemesis and friend of the West
On the commotion about Alexei Navalny, who’s miraculously disappeared from the Russian prison on December 6th, whereas before he’d essentially see his lawyers on a daily basis, communicate with essentially anyone he desired with, and even publish material on social media:
He returned to Russia in 2021 out of his own volition, with a plan, knowing exactly what would happen. Otherwise he would've stayed in Germany. It doesn’t take a genius to know that you can’t fight a totalitarian state from inside the prison. Navalny walked into prison voluntarily, because fighting Putin or his regime are not part of his plan.
Bizarrely, Navalny is trying to identify and sue for "breach of privacy" the prison sources who were informing on him to Vladimir Osechkin, a legitimate Russian-in-exile human rights defender, who may have naively believed Navalny to be a victim. This no longer appears to be the case. Why does Navalny want to hide his living conditions from the public?
Wherever Navalny is right now, he's exactly where he wants to be. Nothing is at it seems with this shady ultra-nationalist playing the role of the friend of the West and Putin’s archenemy. It's becoming increasingly more difficult to deny that Navalny (and his team) and Putin are using each other as a means toward their individual ends.
